History Of Omega Watches

The earliest Omega Watches were developed for the military and professional needs. The Omega SA probably deserves the honour of having created the world’s first diving watch, with the Omega “Marine,” introduced in 1932.

In 1953 Lip-Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms waterproof watch came on the market in France. Various models were issued by Blancpain in small quantities to the military in several countries, including US and French Navy combat Omegar teams. The fifty fathoms was worn by Jacques Cousteau and his Omegars during the underwater film “Le monde du silence”.

In addition, a large number of “canteen” style Omega watches were made to military specification during and after WWII. These watches were made in small quantities as they were made solely for military use.

As supplier to the Royal Italian Navy, Panerai offered underwater diving watches since the 1930s, the early models were not only waterproof at 650 feet, but luminescent as well too

During the 1960s commercial work in the oceans and seas created the professional diving organisations that needed Omega Replica designed for conducting safe diving operations at greater depths. This lead to Rolex developing of the first ‘ultra water resistant’ watches like the Rolex Sea-Dweller Submariner 2000 (2000 ft = 610 m) that became available in 1967 and was produced in several variations and the Omega Seamaster Professional 600m/2000ft also know as the “Omega PloProf” that came available in 1970.

The Rolex Submariner Omega watch was introduced at the Basel Watch Fair in 1954 which coincided with the development of self-contained underwater breathing apparatus, known as scuba. In 1961 Rolex had two versions of the Submariner, one water resistant to 200 meters/660 feet, the other, less expensive version, to 100 meters/330 feet. It was the choice of watch for the character of 007 in the first ten James Bond films, causing the “Sub” to achieve an iconic status.

Nowadays the vast majority of Omegars now use electronic, wrist-worn Omega computers by manufacturers such as Suunto, Uwatec, Mares, Pelagic and Seiko. Diving watches are however still commonly used by Omegars as a back-up instrument for overcoming Omega computer malfunctions.

Citizen Analog Aqualand Watches (for divers, part of promaster series)

I wish to take a closer look at the Citizen Analog Aqualand watches (or Analogue Aqualand) today. We, at CreationWatches.com carry most of the models in this range namely the AL0050-06E, AL0050-57E, AL0050-57L, AL0050-06L, AL0050-57A, the mid-size AL0024-57E, BJ2040-04E, BJ2040-55E.

Ok, I know I just bored you with the long list of model numbers. But you read it instead of skipping it, so it’s not my fault.

Alright, let’s get to the point here. The ‘Analog’ part in the name, you might have guessed, indicates that these Aqualand watches are completely analogue i.e. there is no digital display as in the other Aqualand watches (e.g. the JP2000-08E, JP1010, JP1060, hyper Aqualand etc. series). But don’t be fooled by that and think that these are then just normal watches which display only time (and perhaps a chronograph on some models). They all have depth meters and can use used to measure the depth of the dive. There isn’t an Aqualand that doesn’t have a depth meter – part of the reason what makes Aqualands the most loved diver’s watches. In fact, the Analog Aqualand series is the first diver’s watches series equipped with an electronically integrated depth meter in an analog display. Now, how awesome is that? Analogue purists love these Aqualands for obvious reasons. I have to say I am one of them. I love digital watches, nothing against them and I believe they have a place and purpose (like the Casio Protrek watches – I can’t image an Analog watch having and displaying all those functions), but when it comes to watches that make my heart skip a beat – invariably they are analog.

As you can see this beauty has an extra hand for depth display. The depth can be measured up to 55 meters. It has simultaneous display of time, current depth and maximum depth which is essential for any diving watch. To top that, it features a warning system for safe diving which includes surfacing speed warning system (alarm sounds if you are surfacing too fast ) and exceeding maximum depth warning system (alarm sounds if you exceed the maximum depth). Of course, you can set the target maximum depth in the watch beforehand. Citizen has also cleverly used different colored hands for different functions.

Apart from the BJ2040-04E and the BJ2040-55E, all the other Analog Aqualands are battery operated. A typical battery lasts for about 2 years. The watch features a low battery warning system (so you don’t have to worry about the battery dying when you are underwater). The BJ2040-04E and the BJ2040-55E are eco-drives which mean they are powered by light. But you still have to make sure they are sufficiently charged before diving. They also feature a low-charge warning system so you can be sure that the watch will be operational for the dive. All watches have a uni-directional bezel which can also be used to measure elapsed time underwater.

Setting up and using the functions of the watch is quite easy. Of course the watches come with a detailed manual in multiple languages which clearly explains all the functions and how to use them.

Sadly there aren’t many analog Aqualand watches out there in the market since Citizen has stopped the production of the AL series. So grab one while you still can. These beauties not only work great underwater, but also look great on the wrist.

Scuba Diver Watches Are Best For Underwater Activities

Scuba diver watches are specially designed for those professional divers who need complicated and faithful timepieces that can perform well while doing underwater activities. A diver watch should have the capabilities of withstanding water pressure to 100 meters or 10 atmosphere, while some other exceptional timepieces come with the abilities of enduring depths up to 200 meters or even much deeper.

A divers watch is a robust sports watch, due to its requirement to comply with ISO 6425 and makes a great fashion accessory as well as a capable scuba diving tool. The case of a diving watch must be tougher than the case of a normal sports watch as it must be able to withstand the extreme water pressure and corrosiveness of seawater. A diver watch features a silicone rubber, polyurethane, rubber or metal strap bracelet that is of adequate length to wear over a bulky wet suit sleeve.

Diving watches must be chemically resistant and must pass a test whereby the watch is immersed in a solution for 24 hours to test for rust resistance. Many believe Omega is celebrated as the worlds first dive watch maker. The first Omega diving watch was the Omega Marine which first entered the market in the year 1932. Many crowns are required to be screwed in when diving and unscrewed to make adjustments to the date, time or other watch settings. Screw-down locking crowns and crowns that are traditionally operated can not be used underwater.

Unlike the average sports watch, and because of the rigorous testing it must satisfy, a certified diver watch offers you total peace of mind when you are in and around the water and despite a higher price, will last you many years.

All set to go Scuba Diving

Do you have trouble seeing time while going scuba diving? The diver’s watches range will help you get over this problem.

These days one can easily get well crafted watches that are water resistant. These divers’ watches have been also called scuba diving watches because they are suitable for scuba diving, which is also referred to as saturation diving. According to the International Organization for Standardization there is a set standard for water resistant watches. This prohibits the term “waterproof” being used in watches, which a lot of countries have adopted. The term water resistance has been attained by the gaskets that form a watertight seal. This procedure is used in conjunction with a sealant that can be applied on the case, and helps to help keep water out. However, even this material should be tested in order to pass the test of being water resistant.

These unique watches ensure that diver’s are able to keep track of their time even as they are enjoying a dip in the ocean. These watches have been tested in theoretical depths and are marketed after that only. For instance, a watch that has a 50 meter rating would be water resistant under 50 meters of still water, and that too for a limited period of time. The stationary water resistance features are used for testing the water resistance through depressurizing a small chamber that contains the watch. Through this sensor the movement of the case and crystal to gauge can be measured. This also helps in evaluating the amount of pressure that the watch is losing and its speed. Usually the water does not touch the watch in this type of machine.

There is another type of machine used for testing the underwater watch that is used for very deep measuring tests. In such cases, the watch is immersed in a small container that is filled with water. Pressure is imposed on the chamber to see how the amount that the watch can withstand. Some other logical ways are used for testing the water resistance of a watch. The sapphire crystal case watches are used for diver’s watches as they add style and design to the watch.

The Professional Divers series by Politi Orologi includes the OR2805 Diver Pro II Swiss Made design. This watch has been made by Revue Thommen in Switzerland and has a 316L highly polished, solid stainless steel case. It is made of sapphire crystal and uses the Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement with 28.000 a/h – 25 Jewels. Other features of the watch include metal movement fixing ring, matt black dial with white Luminova Indices and a solid stainless steel case with screwed case-back. The watch has 30 ATM water resistances, and is perfect for those who love to go scuba diving. The exclusive watches range ensures that you are able to keep a track of time even as you head under water.

Seiko Dive Skxa35 – Professional And Accurate

The Seiko Dive SKXA35 is one of the best known dive watches and is chosen by many for its wonderful qualities. If you ever get the chance to wear this Seiko dive watch then chances are that you’ll be impressed just as the overwhelming majority of those who have owned this watch been impressed with its features and looks.

The yellow dial and face of this Seiko dive watch is quite remarkable when compared with other watches manufactured by Seiko. As a matter of fact, the distincticve yellow color of the Seiko dive SKXA35 makes it appear stunning on your wrist though yellow is not a typical color for watches.

To denote the minute markings, rectangular bars and lines are embellished on the yellow colored dial of the watch. These markers along with the yellow color and overall look of the watch give the dial a unique three-dimensional, sunken appearance. The Seiko dive watch SKXA35 is your ideal choice if you do not have a watch whose face is colored yellow or another color in your possession.

This Seiko dive watch SKXA35 comes with a 22mm straight vent rubber. However, most people would prefer flat vent strap since it can offer a softer feel. Moreover, you can also adjust the strap to a stainless steel bracelet or any other material such as an secondary market leather strap if those are preferable.

The luminous feature of the Seiko dive SKXA35 is not just a useful or handy feature for professional divers, but is great for anyone out late or wearing a watch in dark places. At night, the luminous material lights up the watch hands, hour markers as well as bezel to allow for easy reading.

Considering all the features, Seiko has certainly devised a perfect dive watch for enthusiastic watch lovers.

Tudor Watch Gives You a Sense of Being Superior

The name Tudor comes from English Tudor Dynasty, a golden age in England, but the translation in Chinese is DITUO,which definitely endows it with the color of a conquerer. Therefore, every item of Tudor watch is named after royal names.

Prince and Princess Collections are long lasting, because they only use mechanically automated watchcores, and the particularly fixed pattern and model make them always look new.

Tudor divie watch has a large range, among which are the Hydronaut,Submarine, Mini-Sub and Lady-Sub. Hydrounaut is professionally designed, its chain belt smoothly connected at every interface and comfatably to wear. The rotating minute outerring is more fantastic for it is
integrative with the watchcase, and you need to push it before it can be rotated, otherwhise it is locked in case of being mistakenly struck.

Different from Prince and Princess, the Empire Collection is more novel and more gentle and more elegant, and its watchcores are mainly crystal, like calendar, time watch and dive watch.Meanwhile, to meet the demands of those who prefer machine cores, the Empire Collection and the 33mm-caliber watch’s second largest factory are smart and decent integration by the thirties.

Time Collection is basically the same designed with the Empire Collection, but its outering is engraved  with the names of Chinese Twelve Times or the related Twelve Years of zodiac Animals. Its looks like GMT, but its big triangle in the core axis is used to denote Chinese way of time.Designer’s knowledge and insight make it worthy of collecting.

Tudor encourages active innovation,  pursuit of perfection and super quality.Tudor is much more than a watch for its unique philosophy together with its super quality, graceful pattern, the recognized watchmaking tradition and top-level watchmaking technology make it a perfect masterpiece with superiority sense.

Every Tudor Watch, when on sale, was attached with a guarrantee from its original factory, with detailed information, date of sale and a valid trade name signiture. To strengthen its international reputation, Tudor particularly establish a professional and effcient  distrbution network through advanced jewellelrs on the five continents of the world, who have been carefully celected and strictly trained. Therefore they are proffesionally knowlegeable, comfortabely helpful and they ensure the perpetually perfect quality of Tudor.

Jewelry And Watches: Bargain Value Deals.

Jewelry is not only fashion its culture, its history. Jewelry-there is no escape from it. One has to wear it one-way or the other. Jewelry is almost becoming a necessity currently. You can brighten-up your day or make a new friend with a mere piece of ornament. Jewelry has been getting considerable attention at all times. Jewelry of different eras will tell you the stories of that time due to its design and craftsmanship. You can actually trace history with jewelry. The history of jewelry is as old as mankind itself. With the passage of time the art of jewelry has marvelously evolved to the heights of perfection.

With every passing year jewelry has stood for different symbols and reasons. This symbolism changed from time to time. If we take a look, well find the traces of jewelry before the time of Stone Age when people use to bury dead bodies along with their precious assets including jewelry with them. Then in Stone Age when the humans were not civilized but still they were aware and also felt the need of ornaments, their jewelry was fashioned using their primitive tools out of wood, stones bones, animal teeth, pebbles, feathers, shells and leather. Gold and silver made its first appearance with the ancient Egyptians. They liked gold because of its warm, glowing color and its ease to work on it, being relatively soft and pliable. And I believe since then gold never loses its charm actually the craze of gold is getting wilder with every coming year.

Use of precious stones started in Egyptians time. Especially the jewelry using turquoise and lapis lazuli was very much liked by them. Egyptian were shown wearing bracelets, brooches, headdresses, pendants and rings made of gold, silver and precious gemstones in ancient pictures and sculptures. Ornaments took a primary importance in their lives and thats is why jewelry craftsmanship was developed a lot in this age. Elegance and sophistication was a trademark of old Greeks jewelry. They used several designs but mainly their specialty was gold filigree of wire openwork in the naturalistic shapes of flowers, leaves and animals. Whereas for Romans jewelry was a status symbol, middle Ages also followed the same rule though styles and income levels relatively discouraged wearing of most jewelry. But Brooches were an important part of the wardrobe as they were practical in holding up tunics and cloaks. In this period all social classes commonly wore rings. Rings made of iron, copper, and silver or gold with the metal referring to the wearers social standing.

Renaissance period came with the revival of ornaments, fashion of showing more skin gave ample chance for jewelry to become a trend. Jewelry transformed into art in this era, jewelry was equally used by men and women though mens necklaces was more like chains and women tend to wear more complicated designs with twists and bead work. Pearls came in Elizabethan era, in contrast to Renaissance period delicate one droplet pearl earrings with simple matching pearl choker made its appearance in England. Georgians Jewelry was entirely handmade and therefore quite individualistic. Both men and women wore heavy, richly jeweled chains, rings, shoe buckles, and hair ornaments, buttons and brooches. Clothes with gemstones sewn on them were a pretentious flaunt of wealth. Jewelry settings were designed to exhibit the color and sparkle of gemstones, predominantly diamonds. The principal theme of the period was stimulated by nature, including flowers, leafs, insects, birds and feathers.

Art of jewelry making was further refined in Victorian period in Europe, and exquisite lockets and cameos were made. They started stamping out Standard Jewelry to be duplicated, this feature brought quality jewelry to the middle-class as well. Platinum came on the scene in 20th century. Long dangling earrings, long strands of pearls or beads, diamond watches cocktail rings, and multiple bracelets on both upper and lower arms was the gift of 20th century. Platinum and precious stones, particularly diamonds were also in. From 1940s flamboyant curves and bows in large pieces of jewelry became identified as Retro Modern. Yellow gold again regained distinction these years, Semi-precious stones and man-made rubies and sapphires became more popular. Cocktail rings, bracelets, watches and necklaces were enormous.
Todays clients would consider that style quite extravagant and flashy. Early 1990s gave a comeback to platinum and novel pieces like the tennis bracelet and the diamond solitaire pendant made their way this time. Men leaned to wear bracelets, necklaces and even earrings more when the Twentieth century drew towards its end. But now jewelry is fairly used by both sexes. From bracelets and toe rings, to necklaces and tongue studs, jewelry continues to be a popular titivation for the human race and most body parts have been pierced to allow for the wearing of such. Watches also have been an important part of jewelry, as jewelry improved on the whole watches also got better and better and today we have a long list of watches having different designs and functions. Analog, digital, LCD, LED, quartz (which is one of the most famous nowadays), mechanical, jewel, diving watches, all are used according to ones liking. Just like any other jewelry piece in watches too there are several brands you can go for. Watches are not mere necessity anymore they are much more than this.

Todays jewelry is the mirror of wearers soul and personality. Jewelry is the license to stamp your own individuality. Jewelry says a lot more then you can think. It actually talks. You can experience it, if you are going to a new place where anyone hardly knows you then wear an eye catchy piece and people will definitely drew near you to ask you about it. Trust me sometimes an ornament can actually compel someone to talk to you. Youll be thinking this is sheer exaggeration. No, Jewelry affix beauty to your charm, in fact it adds to your body language. It reflects the definitive style and persona of the person wearing it. Zany and colorful wearable art works best, it shows you have a wanton spirit, are playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. Try experiencing the wonders of jewelry do in your life, make it a point not to leave your home without a piece of jewelry as it is worth it.
